October Updates

Birthday Bash

All I can say is WOW and THANK YOU. Our 4th Birthday Bash was a huge success and we appreciate everyone coming out and wishing us a Happy Birthday. The cake that was donated by Trig's was delicious, as usual, and we do thank them for their support of Scrapbook Studio. Everyone had a great time making cards for the troops which added another 100 + to our count. Again, thank you for helping us celebrate four (4) years in business. With many of the local scrapbook stores closing around us, we value your patronage and your continued support of the small independent stores, such as Scrapbook Studio.

Central Wisconsin Scrapbook & Stamp Expo

The 3rd Annual Central Wisconsin Scrapbook & Stamp Expo is just around the corner. Be sure and mark your calendars for the Expo set for Saturday, November 15, from 9a until 3p at John Muir Middle School in Wausau. We have approximately 22 vendors signed up to participate in this Expo. There will be plenty of make 'n takes, lots of new products for sale and door prize drawings every half hour. We will be having our Grand Prize Drawings at 2:00p and you must be present to win. This year, PK Creations from Wausau will be offering lunch between 11a and 2p. They will be serving various sandwiches, soup, salads, beverages and desserts. We look forward to working with them, and know everything will be delicious, since the chef comes from Michael's Candy. Admission to the Expo is $5.00, but you can pick up a $1.00 off coupon from many area scrapbooking & stamping stores. We are also working on getting that coupon put on our website. If you have any questions regarding the Expo, please call 715-845-8859.
EXCLUSIVE Quickutz Die!

LOOK WHO JUST FLEW INTO THE Studio...It's Our NEW Exclusive QuicKutz Custom Tooth Fairy Die!

This adorable Double 4x4 Revolution Die is only available at select Crafters Home Stores. Limited quantities of this die have been produced (a very small amount) and when they are gone, that is it. She is retired!Call or stop by the Studio today to bring your own little pixie home!

Cards for the Troops Football Challenge

Remember the Football Challenge that my friend Sue, from Scrapbooks Too in Minneapolis agreed to a few weeks ago? Well, it seems she is resorting to "bribery" to get her customers to make Thanksgiving cards for the troops. Yes, she is offering one raffle ticket for every card they make; make six cards get six tickets. At the end of the Packer/Viking game on Sunday, November 9, she will be drawing names for five great prizes. How low can she go!!!I've toyed with the idea of using bribery also, and have decided that I will do whatever it takes to win this Challenge and make sure we have plenty of cards for the troops. So, beginning Saturday, November 1, everyone that brings in a card, or makes a card in the Studio, will get a raffle ticket for each card. I have even upped (or is it upt) the anti and will be offering six gifts. The drawings will take place at the end of the game, after our call to Scrapbooks Too, and you must be present to win (about 2:45-3:15p). As a reminder, the challenge is...for every card made by customers at our LSS by the end of the Packer/Viking game on Sunday, November 9, we get a point per card. The store that wins the football game gets an extra 25 points and the score of the game is worth that many points for each store; if Packers win 27 to Vikings 20, then Scrapbook Studio gets 25 points for winning the game and the extra 27 points for their score. We also get a point for every customer in the store at the end of the game. Please mark your calendars now to be at Scrapbook Studio on Sunday, November 9. We will be doing a last minute card crop, watch the game and eat football food. We are even going to open early at 10a to get prepared for kick-off time at noon. If our store is full of customers at the end of the game, we are sure to win this challenge. This is what we need from you now:1. As many Thanksgiving cards that you can make at home and bring them into the Studio to get your raffle tickets. 2. Make a card or two when you come to the Studio to shop. We have a card making station set up in the crop area and the card literally takes about two minutes to make. Please take the time to make a few cards for the troops. 3. If you have someone you know that is serving overseas, please be sure to let us know, so we can send him or her some cards.4. Attend the "final" card making crop on Sunday, November 9, at 10a or at least visit the store between 2:45 and 3:15 when we make the call to Scrapbooks Too to let them know how many cards we made and how many customers we have in the Studio. 5. Root, Root for the home team...GO PACKERS!!! VIKINGS SUCK...6. Say a prayer for our service men and women serving and protecting our country. Psss - Just a little secret - Scrapbooks Too's goal is 1000 cards and as of Monday, they had a little over 200. I can't say a lot here, because I know she will be reading this, but we had a little more than that on Monday. Not to mention the TV coverage we received yesterday while we had 12 second graders in the Studio making cards. Woo Hoo!!! There is a very good chance that we will have TV coverage on the day of the game also - be sure to wear your green and gold, or your red, white and blue!!! Watch out Scrapbooks Too in Minneapolis, MN! We can't control what the Packers do---but we CAN make more cards than you!

Cell Phones for Soldiers

Another Reminder:Scrapbook Studio is proud to be the Cell Phones for Solders collection site for the Wausau Area! Bring in your retired cell phones and let Cell Phones for Soldiers turn them into prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas! The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone – enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad!

August Updates

Trash 2 Treasure Continues

Our Trash 2 Treasure sale was off to a great start for the day, until the dark clouds started rolling in. We had to move everything inside around 12:30 when the rain started coming. After we got everything inside the rain stopped. Boy was I disappointed - it was just so great having everything outside with room for people to move around and see all the great bargains. The weather was just too iffy to take everything back outside again so it is set up inside.
Since we had to interrupt the sale a bit and things got kinda outta place, we have decided to continue with the Trash 2 Treasure sale on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. If you didn't get a chance to stop by on Saturday, this is another great opportunity for you to get some good bargains.

There are plenty of idea magazines for a quarter, decorative scissors for a quarter, paper is about 10 cents a sheet, slews of stamps, a few QK Squeeze tools, plenty of plastic templates, loads of brand new stickers and chipboard embellishments. There is a lot left to choose from so be sure to stop by tomorrow or Wednesday to pick up some bargains.

Scrappin' Sports & More has arrived with their new sports paper as well as new personalized schools including Stratford, Marathon, Tomahawk, Edgar, and Antigo. Sugartree came in with their outdoorsy papers as well as their Grand Canyon papers (Mt. Rushmore was a real hit), new QK Alphabets, and Dream Street Designs papers and stickers. We are expecting more this week and hopefully the new Reminisce schools papers will show up soon.

ScrapPink Crop

Scrapbooks, etc. is partnering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for a ScrapPink funding raising campaign in September at independent scrapbook stores across North America. The campaign will culminate in an exciting “all evening” crop at Scrapbook Studio, on Friday, September 26, from 5p until 2a. Yes, ladies…nine hours of none interrupted cropping time. It will be a fun, late night and it is for a great cause. It will give you plenty of time to get many of your layouts done.

We will feed you dinner (no - not pizza), plenty of chocolate, beverages, munches, free “make n’ takes”, goodie bags and door prizes. $10 of your crop fee will go to the Komen’s mission to find a cure for breast cancer through research, education, screening and treatment and is tax deductible. All of this for only $30 which includes the $10 donation fee.

Be sure to call the Studio at 715-845-8859 or stop by to register for this fun event to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Cell Phone for Soliders

Don't forget that Scrapbook Studio has partnered with "Cell Phones for Soliders" and have become a drop off point for your old cell phones. We have already sent one box off and are waiting for more donations.

Do you have cell phones that are useless? Don't know where the cords are? The battery is dead? Please consider donating them to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit, recycling program to "Help Our Troops Call Home". Drop them off at Scrapbook Studio and we will send them on to Massachusetts to be recycled.

Every 16 months, U.S. consumers are retiring an estimated 150 million cell phones and less that 10% of those phones are recycled. There are tons of phones in junk drawers across American, waiting to be collected and turned into calling card cash. Each phone provides an hour of talk time to soldiers serving abroad.

You do not have to be a scrapbooker to drop off your phones, so please send this email to your co-workers, freinds and family members. Let's get the word out that you can drop your used cell phones off at Scrapbook Studio.

Check out the website of these two teenagers who started this program:

Lost My Mind?

Lost My Mind???

I am so sorry for the double post, but maybe "I have lost my mind..."I forgot to tell you about all the other Memorial Day specials we will have running in the Studio starting Saturday, May 17, and running through next Saturday, May 24.

Remember, we will be closing on Sundays for the summer beginning next Sunday, May 25. ALL Rolled Stickers are 40% off - yes, we are moving them out and never bringing them back again. Rolled stickers are a pain...people tear off the ones they want and then change their minds, kids pick off one piece of the sticker and their parents never see it happen, but we find it on the floor later.

Yes, rolled stickers have got to go.

ALL Albums are 30% off - we have ordered too many this season and we need the space. All our albums at Scrapbook Studio are quality, top of the line albums.

All Religious Patterned Papers - 30% off - with all the communions, confirmations and baptisms that are going on this time of year, we want to help you document those special occasions. Be sure to ask a sales association where our Religious section is located. All Religious Stickers in Packages - 30% off - Be sure to get those special stickers to go with your church events.

We will be heading to CHA in a few shorts months and we need to clear out some of the this merchandise so we can focus on the new releases that will be debuting at CHA.

May Update

GRADS AND DADS

It's a great time to come in and shop for Grads and Dads...we're stocked to the brim with lots of goodies, including the "Old Guys Rule" paper and stickers, personalized school paper for Merrill, Marathon, Edgar, East, West, DCE and Newman. Not to mention all the new stuff that has been arriving daily. We just got five more huge boxes today from Inque Boutique. Can't wait to open them and get all the stuff on the shelves. While you're here, check out our large selection of patriotic and cookout items for your upcoming Memorial Day activities! Be sure to shop early--we will be CLOSED on Memorial Day so that our staff can spend the holiday with family and friends.

Inventory Reduction

One of the toughest things about owning a store is knowing how much inventory to purchase. If I don't buy enough, I lose sales. If I buy too much, money is tied up, making it difficult to buy new things. Oh the struggles....Well, I overbought Quickutz dies and they are taking up a lot of space. We just have to move them out, so here is where you win, and I win.All Quickutz dies will go on sale for one week beginning Saturday, May 17 until Saturday, May 24, for 40% off. This includes the 2x2s, 4x4s, Cookie Cutters, Alphabets, and theme sets. It does not include the new 12" border dies, or the Alpha sets that are already reduced. Not only will the dies be on sale, but I am also putting the Squeeze Hand Tool on sale for $59.99. This tool normally sells for $89.99 and comes with an alphabet perfect for your layouts or cards. The alphabets purchased seperately sell for $69.99. Don't want the Squeeze? How about the Revolution for $89.99? The Revolution is a table top die cutting machine that will hold 4x4 dies, as well as 4 2x2 dies. Not to mention the new 12" platform that is capable of cutting border dies up to 12".Have I lost my mind??? Am I going out of business??? Are these bad products??? None of the above... I just need to move out the old to bring in the new. Be sure to stop by and ask for a mini demo of each of these tools. There is so much you can do with them. You don't need electricity, they are very portable to take to crops, and you can even let your kids use them without the fear of cutting themselves. How great is that for them to get school projects done. This sale will only last a week, so be sure to get your dies and tools this week.

The Shape Mate cutting system is very cool - less bulking than that other brands, and oh so easy to use. Take a look at what you can do with this system:

NEWS ALERT! - Note from Lisa

A big Cosmo Cricket wave!

I am getting so excited to visit the Scrapbook Studio and teach some very special classes for all of you! I have been very busy creating two fun and memorable classes. You won't want to miss either of them! The last time I taught for Cosmo Cricket was in Minneapolis and our classes sold out 10 minutes after registration opened. Can you tell how popular Cosmo Cricket is?

I want to share a very special sneak peek link for you below to my blog which will give you a sneak peek of each class I am offering at the Studio. The mini vacation album has pieces that pull out and flip inside! (actually if you look at the front cover there is a pocket that holds an arrow piece that pulls out)! The layout class also has some moving features on the pages and will feature your home.

I am honored to be asked to come and teach at the Scrapbook Studio and look forward to sharing Cosmo Cricket product with you! The neat thing about both items is that they can be remade over and over again using different papers. Once you have the techniques down you can repeat them in so many ways!

I look forward to seeing and teaching all of you very soon!

April/May Newsletter

New Summer Hours

We just want to remind you that beginning Sunday, May 25 (Memorial Weekend), Scrapbook Studio will be closed on Sundays throughout the summer months.

We will continue to be closed on Mondays as usual.

We will also be closed on Sunday, May 11, in honor of Mother's Day. We hope all you Mother's have a wonderful day with your loved ones.

Celebrity Guest Designer

OK ladies she's coming to Scrapbook Studio…Lisa Falduto, celebrity designer for many companies including Cosmo Cricket (one of our favorite companies) is coming to teach at Scrapbook Studio.

Lisa will be here on Saturday, May 10, teaching two classes, back to back, showcasing the new Cosmo Cricket lines.

The first class begins at 10a until noon, and will be Home Sweet Home layouts and cards using Cosmo Cricket's new Fleuriste collection. At 1:30a until 3:30p she will be teaching a mini Vacation Album using the Get Happy collection from Cosmo Cricket. Not only will she teach you these projects, she will showcase many different techniques to help you use the tools and products you may already have, but don't know how to use, or have never used.
Lisa will also return on Tuesday, June 3, from 6p - 8p teaching the Home Sweet Home class, and again on Wednesday, June 10, from 6p to 8p, to teach the mini Vacation Album, for those of you who can’t make it on a Saturday.

We are so excited to have a celebrity teach at our Studio. This is quite an honor and I just hope we can show our support for Lisa so she will return again. Lisa is a very talented instructor and designer and has a great following. You can see some of her work at:
Scrapbook Resumes
Her Blog
As you know, seats are limited in the Studio, so be sure to sign up quickly before these classes are sold out.

PS - If you sign up for one of Lisa's classes, and can tell us how Cosmo Cricket got its name when you sign up, you will receive a free gift from the Studio...a very nice gift I might add that totals more than the class fee.

Don't delay, call or stop in to sign up for these very great classes, by a fantastic designer from Cosmo Cricket.

May/June Class Kick-Off

Don't forget, this Tuesday, April 29, we will be hosting our May/June Class Kick-Off. These events are always a great time, with food, drinks, discounts, and more.
Stop by the Studio anytime between 6p and 8p to preview the classes that will be held in May and June. Our teachers will be available to answer questions, help you with your supply list and showcase their classes.

Remember, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation, and end of school are always the perfect time to make gifts for your loved ones and of course, the favorite teacher. We have all of these covered in our classes and what could be a better gift than a homemade gift.

For every class you sign up for at the Class Kick-Off, you will receive a 10% discount off that class.

New Cardstock Company - Core d'nations is here We made the decision to bring in a new cardstock company that is better than Bazzill. It is called Core d'nations and it is fantastic. This versatile cardstock gives you at least three or more ways to use it. The texture is very similar to Bazzill, but it has a core color that allows you to sand, tear, emboss or distress it to give you another color in the core of the paper (the middle).

For those of you who liked Die Cuts with a View, that has a white core middle, you will love this new cardstock. It is the same price as Bazzill, but has triple the value.

BAZZILL SALE!!!

With the addition of the new Core d'nations cardstock, we must get rid of all the Bazzill. We are selling it off at a special price, just to get rid of it. Stop by and get your favorite colors before it is gone. At 10 sheets for $4.00 it is sure to go fast - that is 40 cents a sheet. However, you must purchase in increments of at least 10 sheets for that special price.

Now is the time to stock up if you are a Bazzill fanatic. Not only will we not sell it anymore, but they announced a price increase as of June 1.

National Scrapbook DayWe still have a few spots left for our Friday Night National Scrapbook Day Crop on May 2.

If you are interested in having a great time, getting great deals, freebies, food, drinks, fun, games and more, be sure to sign up for our Friday night crop in honor of National Scrapbook Day. This promises to be a ball, with all sorts of free stuff from our vendors.

Not to mention the great company you will be in with all the fun ladies that attend these crops. Space is limited so be sure to sign up soon. This crop is only a week away.

In honor of National Scrapbook Day, Saturday, May 3, Scrapbook Studio will be having several make 'n takes for you to participate in. We will have hourly raffles, give-a-ways and of course lots of stuff on sale. Be sure to stop by the Studio on National Scrapbook Day to get great deals, lots of fun and plenty of sales.

We can't wait to celebrate the most famous day of the year for Scrapbookers.

April Update

Trash 2 Treasure Update

As it stands now, we do not have enough participation to hold our semi-annual Trash 2 Treasure Sale, so it looks like we might have to cancel this event for the weekend of April 19 and 20. If you have been thinking about selling some of your slightly used items, but still haven't made up your mind, now is the time to decide. If we don't get at least 6 more people to participate by Friday, we will have to cancel. We will keep you posted if it is going to take place or not.

Sale Continues This Week

Due to the flu bug that really hit me hard, I had to close the Studio at 3:15 on Sunday. I got home at 3:30, had a temp of 102.4 and went right to bed, sleeping until 6:00am today. I feel better today, but still have low grade temp...thank goodness I have the day off. To make up for the early closing, we will extend the sale going on at the Studio for the rest of this week. Remember, 30% - 70% OFF all items on the side tables and back tables. In addition, you will still receive a free album for every $25 or more (pre-tax of course) you spend. These albums are just adorable and are such a great size for individual events. Again, I do apologize for closing early on Sunday, but sometimes it can't be helped.

Happy Spring!

Where has the time gone??? Easter has come and gone and we didn't even send out an Easter newsletter. We do apologize for that mishap; we didn't mean for it to slip by so quick. Anyway, Spring is here now. We can almost feel it by the melting snow, the grass beginning to show, and the weather getting a bit warmer. But, if you really want to see spring, be sure to check out all the new products at the Studio. Spring is definitely in the air with all the cute new spring lines coming in. We have a ton of things going on at the Studio in the next few months that we are really excited about. We are starting with a slam-bang spring clearance sale, our semi-annual Trash 2 Treasure Sale, Our Class Kick-Off, National Scrapbook Day, an extra Special Guest Apprearance, and it just goes on and on from there. Read on to find out what is happening at the Studio.

Spring Cleaning Sale - or SALE OF THE YEAR

OK Ladies - this is the SALE OF THE YEAR for Scrapbook Studio. We are cleaning out the Studio to make room for all the new products arriving. If you have been in the Studio lately, you know we need more space. We have gone through the paper racks and cleaned out everything that is over abundant or had less than 5 sheets of paper. We scoured the racks to eliminate the stickers and embellishment that are stragglers and putting them in the clearance section (but they are so darn cute I keep telling my employees - they tell me to get rid of it). Not to mention the foam stamps, paints, tools, etc. that are taking up room. The time has come for us to clean up, clear up and tidy up the Studio. Even my loyal customers tell me it is getting too crowded and I should find a bigger space. That tells me that I am a pack rat and things must GO.So, starting Tuesday, April 1 (no fooling) through Sunday, April 6, you will find many items on the work area tables at a reduction of at least 30% to 40% off. All items on the sale table (in the back area) will be reduced to 50% to 70% off. Now is the time to stock up big.
As an added bonus, anyone spending at least $25 (pre-tax of course) will receive a 6x12 album free. These albums retail for $12.99. Supplies are limited so hurry in soon to get your free gift.

Trash 2 Treasure Sale

We still have room for more participants in our semi annual Trash 2 Treasure Sale scheduled for Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20.This is the perfect opportunity for you to sell your gentle used scrapbook or stamping items that you no longer use, need, or want. The procedure is pretty simple, we charge a $10 fee for you to rent space in our Studio to sell those items you want to sell. In exchange for this fee, we take care of everything - advertising, manning the tables, collecting the money, distributing the money and we do not hackle with customers on the price you marked. You don't have to be here to do a thing. Just drop off your items and leave the rest to us. Whatever you sell, you will receive a Scrapbook Studio Gift Certificate in the amount of your sales to be used to buy new items in the Studio. What more could you ask for!!! You are respsonsible for marking your items with the specific price and your initials on each item. You must pre-register in order to have your initials validated and you must have your items into the Studio by Wednesday or Thursday before the sale. Everyday we have customers tell us they have enough stuff to open their own scrapbook store and we kinda laugh and ask...are you using it all??? Of course not - so get rid of it to someone who can use it. There are many beginner scrapbookers and stampers out there that would love to have the stuff you no longer use. Let them buy it at a bargain price and you can get new stuff. If you would like to participate in the spring Trash 2 Treasure Sale, call the Studio at 845-8859 or stop by with your registration fee. Not interested in selling, but would like to buy some gentle used stuff. Be sure to be at the Studio bright and early Saturday, April 19, to get the first look at all the great items. Remember, ALL SALES ARE CASH ONLY. We can't run checks or credit cards for rummage sale items, so be sure to bring your cash. The parking is tight, the lines are long, but it is well worth it for the bargains. We are working on ways to separate the tables and putting them in different locations, so it isn't so congested in the one area. We also request that no strollers be brought into the Studio on Saturday. We hope we can find a way...if the weather would cooperate, we could even have it outside in the side parking lot, which is an option. Let's hope for good weather.

Easter Charity Card Contest
Congratulations to Joy - her card was the winning card in our Easter Charity Card Contest. What a fun time this was. We had 16 cards entered into the contest and collected over $46.00 to donate to The Women's Community in Wausau.
